Alphan Law Deans Speak at Breakfast Forum
The Alpha Phi Beta Chancery Inc., the alumni association of the Alpha Phi Beta Fraternity, University of the Philippines, will hold its 1st Alphan Breakfast Forum on Friday, 21 October 2005 at Hotel Rembrandt along Tomas Morato Extension, Quezon City.

Starting at 7:00 until 10:00 am, the Forum will take on the topic “The State of Legal Education in the Philippines.” In addition to Brod Buddy Carlota, newly-appointed Dean of the U.P. College of Law, fellow Alphans who are Deans in their respective law colleges are expected to share their views. These are Brods: Willy Agnir Jr. ( Northwestern University,

 

Laoag), Tony Tupaz (P.U.P.), Jovi Opinion (Eastern Samar State University), Pic Agabin (Lyceum), Edgar Tarriela (P.L.M. Graduate School of Law), Nicasio Bautista (University of La Salette), and Cesar Castor (Batangas State University).

On this occasion, all the above-mentioned Brods will be given Certificates of Achievement by the Chancery. In addition, the following Brods will similarly be honored: Dennis Patrick Z. Perez, newly appointed Judge RTC 67 Binangonan, Rizal; Alex Lacson, for his book “12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help the Country” ; J. Eduardo Malaya and Jonathan E. Malaya who co-authored “So Help Us God: The Presidents of the Philippines and their Inaugural Addresses.”

The event will be hosted by former PCGG Chairman & Presidential Legal Adviser Brod Magdangal Elma and Brods Bobby Lucila and Bobby Parel. A project of the Chancery, the Alphan Breakfast Forum will be held every other month. It will tackle issues of concern and importance to the Chancery and to the nation at large.
